How will you make a difference?

Want to make a difference in your neighborhood or town? Looking to change a local law or ordinance? Want to start a national movement?

You can’t do it alone.

All the passion in the world won’t get you across the finish line if you can’t organize your community to join you in your cause.

That’s where Relational Organizing comes in.

At its most basic, Relational Organizing centers on training volunteers to reach out to friends and family and share personal stories around the issues that matter to them most. It’s about authentically listening to the views and concerns of the other person and knowing how to respond. This demonstrated approach can help an organization activate, build, and expand their activist base and organizational reach on a mighty scale.

You must listen, build and connect if you want to change the world!

It’s been a decade since a small team of us in Wisconsin modernized our Relational Organizing tool in an attempt to recall Governor Scott Walker.

Since that time, the terminology has changed. The tools have expanded. Ample research has been done to help us hone and perfect implementation.

What hasn’t changed is what’s at the heart and soul of Relational Organizing: people.

The concept behind RO is simple — when we provide people with the tools they need to talk to people, we win.

Our program has grown and evolved immensely over the last ten years. But our mission has never wavered.

We continue to develop our tools, knowledge base and resources to help organizations and campaigns create and manage programs to win at the local, regional and national level.

Organizing Empowerment provides support to organizations, and works with them to develop and implement Relational Organizing plans that fit into their larger mission, as well as provide them with the training they need to develop and apply core skills in their volunteers.
